A polished Toros Black round bowl
This round vessel sink is carved by hand from Toros Black marble quarried in Turkey. It is 16 inches in diameter and 5 inches high, polished inside and out. Marble is a natural product, so each bowl carries its own mineral inclusions, faint veining and small shifts of tone, and no two sinks are identical. A hand-carved basin like this is close to a small sculpture that holds water: the character of the stone cannot be reproduced, and that is the point of choosing it.
Design
Gloss on every surface
The whole bowl is polished, inside and out, so the black stone catches light and reflects the room around it, adding depth to a plain vanity. The basin is curved all the way down, with no sharp corners and no flat ledges where water can collect. Because the sides slope smoothly to the drain, water and soap rinse away cleanly and the bowl does not hold puddles. The rim is rounded and even. Toros Black has moderate natural variation: lighter streaks and small mineral spots appear in most pieces and are part of the stone, not flaws in the work.

A glossy black surface that reflects light and shows the fine veining.

Smooth sides with no corners, so water rinses straight to the drain.
Where to use it
Sized for small and large baths
At 16 inches across and 5 inches high, the bowl works in bathrooms of almost every size without overwhelming a compact vanity. In a powder room it becomes the main feature; in a larger primary bath, two can sit side by side on a double vanity. Black marble reads strongly against white, gray or light wood counters, and it also sits well on a dark top for a quieter, tone-on-tone look. Brass, chrome and matte black fittings all suit it. The 4 cm drain hole takes standard sink fittings, so the drain itself needs no special parts.

Installation
Set it on top of the counter
This is an above-countertop sink. The vanity top must be flat, level and strong, because solid marble is heavy. A drain hole is cut in the counter to line up with the 4 cm drain, and the bowl is set in silicone so it stays in place. Since the rim stands 5 inches above the counter, the faucet must reach over it: a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout, chosen before the counter is cut. Professional installation is recommended, both for the weight of the stone and for the precision needed to place it.

Care
Toros Black is a marble, a porous calcite stone, so acids such as vinegar or lemon and harsh chemicals can etch the polished surface and dull its gloss. A sealer slows the absorption of liquids and staining agents, and how often it is resealed depends on use.
