Product Description
Nature Carrara is a 24x48 porcelain tile with a marble look in a matte finish, 8.5 mm (5/16 inch) thick.
Nature reproduces eight well-known marbles, among them Calacatta Gold, Statuario, Carrara, Taj Mahal and the dark Belvedere. The rectified, colored body porcelain runs from 24x48 to 4x12 with mosaics and bullnose; four of the colors also come polished in 24x48.
At 24x48 this is a large format, so a room needs fewer pieces and shows fewer grout lines. Large tiles want a flat, well-prepared substrate.
The matte face has no sheen, so Nature Carrara does not throw glare and keeps footprints and water spots out of sight. The color runs through the body of the tile, so a chip shows the same tone instead of a light clay base. Shade variation is moderate: tone and pattern change from piece to piece, as in natural material. Del Conca rates the face at 0.42 DCOF wet or better, which meets the ANSI A326.3 minimum for level interior floors that get wet.
The edges are rectified, cut square after firing, so the tile can be set with a narrow grout joint. Each box holds 2 pieces, 15.5 sq ft, about 61 lb, and orders round up to full boxes.
