Product Description
Quartzite Dark Gray is a 4x12 porcelain tile with a stone look in a matte finish, 8.5 mm (5/16 inch) thick.
Quartzite is modeled on Brazilian quartzite, a layered stone with fine, sparkling grain. The rectified, colored body porcelain comes in Bianco, Sand, Gray and Dark Gray, with a Grip 12x24 for wet floors, a Muretto wall tile, a mosaic and a bullnose.
At 4x12, the tile works as a subway on a backsplash or in a herringbone on a floor.
Quartzite Dark Gray has a matte, low-glare face that hides daily wear better than a shiny one. It is a colored body porcelain: the tint goes all the way through, which keeps chips and cut edges discreet. Del Conca rates the shade variation as moderate, so tone and veining move from one piece to the next. Its wet DCOF is 0.42 or higher, the ANSI threshold for level indoor floors exposed to water.
Rectified edges, ground square after firing, allow a tight grout joint. Sold by the box: one box covers 11.65 sq ft in 36 pieces and weighs about 46 lb.
