Product Description
Quartzite Sand is a 4x12 porcelain tile with a stone look in a matte finish, 8.5 mm (5/16 inch) thick.
Quartzite is modeled on Brazilian quartzite, a layered stone with fine, sparkling grain. The rectified, colored body porcelain comes in Bianco, Sand, Gray and Dark Gray, with a Grip 12x24 for wet floors, a Muretto wall tile, a mosaic and a bullnose.
The 4x12 is a small rectangle for walls and floors: run it as a subway, stack it, or set it in a herringbone.
The matte face has no sheen, so Quartzite Sand does not throw glare and keeps footprints and water spots out of sight. The color runs through the body of the tile, so a chip shows the same tone instead of a light clay base. Shade variation is moderate: tone and pattern change from piece to piece, as in natural material. Del Conca rates the face at 0.42 DCOF wet or better, which meets the ANSI A326.3 minimum for level interior floors that get wet.
The edges are rectified, cut square after firing, so the tile can be set with a narrow grout joint. It ships in full boxes of 11.65 sq ft (36 pieces), roughly 46 lb each.
