Afyon Sugar marble table on round legs
This side table is made from Afyon Sugar marble, also called Afyon White, a white marble with soft gray veins quarried in the Afyon region of Turkey, a key center of Turkish marble production. It pairs that tradition of stonework with a minimal design: a round top 18 inches in diameter, standing 22 inches high on round legs, all finished with a hone. Each piece is handcrafted by artisans in Turkey, and because every block is veined differently, no table can be replicated, with moderate color variation between pieces. Quarrying of this marble is largely limited to the Afyon region, which gives it a distinct identity.

The honed finish is a deliberate choice for living with the table. Honed marble skips the final polishing step, so it has a matte appearance rather than a shine, and many people choose it for its natural look. The matte surface absorbs light instead of reflecting it, which gives a calm, understated feel, while the marble's veining and character stay clear without calling for attention. Fingerprints and water spots are less noticeable on a matte top. Below, the cylindrical legs give visual lightness while carrying the top securely. The soft white and gray tones work with gray, white, beige and warm color schemes.

The table arrives fully finished and ready to place. Solid marble is heavy for a table this size, so two people should carry it and set it down. A level floor lets the round legs bear evenly, and felt pads underneath protect wood floors and tile. Choose the spot before it arrives; stone furniture is easier to place once than to keep moving.

Care
Afyon Sugar is a porous calcite marble with a honed surface. Acids such as vinegar or citrus-based cleaners can etch it, and abrasive products can scratch the finish. Periodic sealing helps the stone resist spills, and how often it is resealed depends on use. Over time the honed finish develops a subtle patina while staying practical for daily use, and because the table is solid marble, wear can be professionally restored.
