Calacatta Viola is a calcite marble with a polished face. As a porous natural stone it can be etched by acidic products such as vinegar, lemon juice or wine, and spills left to sit can stain it. Sealing on arrival and resealing over time maintain a protective barrier against staining, and how often resealing is needed depends on use. It is natural stone that asks for reasonable care, not constant attention, and it ages with a patina over the years.
