A 36 inch Carrara White sink
This rectangular sink is carved by hand from Carrara White marble quarried in Turkey, a stone that has been prized for centuries in palaces and in fine homes. It measures 36 inches long, 16 inches wide and 5 inches high. The soft white background and subtle gray veining are different on every sink, so no two are identical. It can hang on the wall as a floating sink or sit above a vanity.
Design
Polished white, curved basin
The finish is polished inside and out, a bright, high-shine surface that suits traditional, transitional and contemporary bathrooms alike. The basin is curved with smooth edges, which keeps dirt from collecting and makes everyday cleaning simple. The veining varies moderately from piece to piece, so the pattern on a delivered sink will differ from the product images. With care, the marble develops a subtle patina over the years.

Where to use it
A floating sink or a vanity top
Mounted on the wall, the sink floats above the floor: light reaches the floor below, the bathroom looks larger, and the bulk of a cabinet is gone. That makes it a strong fit for powder rooms, guest baths and contemporary renovations. It can also sit above a vanity when storage is needed. At 36 inches long, the basin has generous room without overwhelming a compact space. There are no pre-drilled faucet holes, so the faucet placement, finish and style are open: brass, chrome, matte black or vintage-style. The 1.5 inch drain hole works with standard plumbing.

Installation
Plan the wall before it arrives
Solid marble of this length is heavy. For a wall-mount installation, blocking between the studs is added at the mounting height while the wall is open, and the brackets are fixed to it; there is space beneath the sink for the brackets. Since there are no faucet holes, a wall-mounted faucet is the usual choice, planned with the supply lines and drain. If the sink sits above a vanity, the vanity top must be flat, level and strong enough for the stone. A professional installer is recommended.

Care
Carrara White is a porous calcite marble with a polished surface. Acids can etch the polish, and periodic resealing protects the stone's surface; how often depends on use, typically once a year.
