Carrara White marble designer console
This designer console is handcrafted from Carrara White marble quarried in Turkey and finished with a polished face. Gray veining runs across a soft white ground, and because every block comes from a different part of the quarry, no two consoles carry the same pattern. The table measures 40 inches long, 15 inches wide and 32 inches high. That slim depth is the idea behind the design: It gives a long surface for lamps, framed art and everyday objects while standing close to the wall in an entry, a hallway or behind a sofa. Each piece is shaped and finished individually by stone workers in Turkey using traditional methods, so it is a one-off piece of stone rather than a factory replica.
Design
Polished white with gray veining
The polished surface brings out the light in the stone. On a pale marble like Carrara, that shine reflects lamplight and daylight back into the room, which helps brighten a darker wall or a narrow entry and adds depth to an open plan. The white to gray veining has a quiet movement that sits comfortably in a traditional room, and it reads just as calmly in modern, contemporary or transitional interiors, without tying the piece to a passing trend. Marble also changes slowly with use. Over the years the surface gathers small marks and a soft patina, part of the character of a real stone piece. The veining, tone and spacing on any one console differ from the next, since that variation comes from the quarry itself.

Entry, hallway or sofa back
In an entryway the top becomes a landing spot for keys, mail and the small things that arrive at the door each day, and with a mirror or artwork hung above it the arrangement looks deliberate rather than improvised. Add a table lamp or two for soft evening light. Behind a sofa, the 40 inch length holds a pair of lamps, a stack of books and a few decorative pieces without crowding. Against a bare living room wall it gives a long, low line of white stone that anchors the wall and gives art a base to sit over. At 32 inches high the top sits at a comfortable height for lamps and display, and the 15 inch depth keeps walkways clear in tight halls where a bulkier piece would get in the way.

Delivery and setup
Crated, heavy, easy to place
Every console is wrapped and packed in a wooden crate for shipping, and solid marble makes it a heavy piece to move. Plan for two or more people to unpack it and carry it into position, and clear a route through doorways before delivery day. Set it on a level floor so the top sits true and the weight bears evenly. Felt pads or a rug underneath protect a wood or tile floor from scratches. Once it is in place the weight of the stone keeps it steady, so objects on top do not rock when someone brushes past or leans on the edge.

Two schedules, custom sizes
Every console is made to order on one of two schedules. The 3 to 4 week option ships sooner, and the 8 to 14 week option is the lower priced choice for the same size and finish. If 40 inches is too long or too short for the wall, this console can also be made in a custom size or finish. To start a custom order, contact us with the measurements of the space.
Care
Carrara White is a calcite marble with a polished face. Like all marble it is a porous stone, so acidic liquids such as citrus or vinegar can etch the polish and strong pigments can stain it if left to sit. Periodic resealing helps protect the surface against staining, and how often it is needed depends on how much the top is used. Small marks that build up over the years soften into a patina rather than spoil the stone.
