A double sink in Calacatta Viola
This 53 inch double sink is hand-carved from Calacatta Viola marble quarried in Turkey, with two basins in one long piece of stone. It is made for a shared bathroom, where two people can brush their teeth, wash and get ready at the same time. The creamy white ground carries gray veining that changes from piece to piece, so each sink is unrepeatable. At 53 inches long, 19 inches wide and 6 inches high, it suits a primary bath, an ensuite or a generously sized powder room.
Design
Two basins, polished all over
The two basins are set side by side in a single rectangular block, each with enough depth to keep splashing in check. The finish is polished on the interior and exterior. That mirror-like surface spreads natural light across the stone and gives the bathroom a bright, airy feel, and it resists daily wear and staining better than a matte face. Moderate variation in the tone and veining of the marble is normal, and no two sinks will look exactly alike.

Shared bathrooms often turn the morning routine into a queue. With a basin for each person, grooming essentials stay organized on each side and two routines can run in parallel. The 53 inch length fits a wide wall in a primary bath or ensuite. The sink can be mounted to the wall for a floating look, or set on a custom vanity or countertop for storage underneath. A matching stone drain cap is included, so there is no need to source a separate cover to match the marble.

Installation
Plan for length and weight
A 53 inch piece of solid marble is heavy. On the wall, it needs blocking between the studs along its full length and brackets rated for stone. On a countertop or vanity, the top must be flat, level and strong enough to carry it, and the sink is set in silicone. Decide early whether the faucets go on the wall or on the counter, so the supply lines and drains can be run to match both basins. A professional installer is recommended for lifting and leveling a piece this size.

Care
Calacatta Viola is a porous calcite marble, so acidic contact can etch the polished surface, and over time minor etching becomes part of the stone's patina. Resealing preserves its water resistance, and how often depends on use, typically about once a year.
