A 56 inch Calacatta Viola vanity sink
This wall-mount vanity sink is carved from solid blocks of Calacatta Viola marble by artisans in Turkey. It measures 20 inches wide, 56 inches long and 10 inches high, a long, generous piece with a fluted front and a polished finish. The white stone with gray veining varies from piece to piece, so each sink is one of a kind.
Design
A fluted front in polished marble
The fluted front adds a rhythmic texture along the full length of the sink. The interior and exterior are polished, which brings out the veining, and the basin edges are smooth and curved, so daily cleaning is simple. Color and veining vary naturally between pieces.

Where to use it
A long sink for the wall
At 56 inches long, the sink gives a primary bathroom a wide, uninterrupted run of marble. Its modern lines suit contemporary rooms and work in traditional and transitional ones too. A 1.5 inch drain hole takes standard plumbing.

Installation
Plan for a heavy piece
The sink can be hung on the wall or set on a countertop. At this length, solid marble is very heavy, so a wall installation needs blocking between the studs along the full width and strong brackets, and a countertop must be flat, level and built to carry it. Plan a wall-mounted faucet and its supply lines before the wall is closed. It ships in a reinforced wooden crate. A professional installer is recommended.

Care
Calacatta Viola is a calcite marble and, like all marble, porous, so acids such as vinegar or lemon can etch the polish. It arrives sealed, and how often it is resealed depends on use.
