Calacatta Viola with a towel holder and shelf
This wall-mount sink is carved by hand from Calacatta Viola marble quarried in Turkey. It spans 37 inches long, 18 inches wide and 8 inches high, a basin large enough for washing, grooming and the slower routines of a primary bath. The stone has a white ground with gray and purple veining that catches the light, and the mineral inclusions, veining and surface character differ in every piece. What sets this design apart is what is built into it: an integrated towel holder, a front shelf and a hidden drain, so a floating sink also gives some practical storage.
Design
Polished stone, purple veins
The sink is polished inside and out. Inside the basin, the glossy surface reflects light upward and makes the bowl feel larger and brighter. Outside, the polish brings out the bold gray and purple veining of the Calacatta Viola against its white ground. The edges are smooth and curved, with no harsh lines, which keeps daily cleaning straightforward. The drain is hidden from view, so the bottom of the basin reads as clean, unbroken stone. Moderate color variation is normal for this marble, and one sink may carry heavier purple veining than another.

Where to use it
Storage on a floating sink
Most floating sinks give up storage for open floor. This one keeps the open floor and adds a place for a hand towel and a front shelf for soap or a small tray, which cuts down clutter on the rim. With no cabinet below, the floor stays easy to sweep and mop, and the room looks lighter and larger. The 37 inch length suits a primary bath or a guest suite, and the sink also works in a generous powder room. It accepts standard faucets and drain fittings, and it can be set above a vanity if more storage is wanted.

Installation
Plan the brackets and the wall
The sink has pre-designed bracket spaces for a floating installation, but a 37 inch piece of solid marble is heavy, and the wall behind it needs blocking between the studs at the mounting height. Add it while the wall is open, along with the drain and supply lines. A wall-mounted faucet is a natural pair for a floating sink and should be roughed in at the same time. If the sink sits on a vanity instead, the top must be flat, level and strong. A professional installer is recommended for the weight and the precision required.

Care
Calacatta Viola is a porous calcite marble, so acidic products such as vinegar or lemon can etch the polished surface. Sealing slows water and oils from soaking into the stone, and how often it is resealed depends on how much the sink is used.
