Light Troia travertine, shaped into an oval
This oval vessel sink starts as a solid block of light beige travertine from Turkey and is shaped entirely by hand. The stone shows the warm undertones and subtle grain that travertine is known for, giving the bowl a calm, grounded look. It measures 16 inches wide, 21 inches long and 6 inches high, and its finish is honed and filled. Because every sink is carved individually, no two are the same: each has its own color gradations, veining and surface character.
Design
A satin surface, filled and honed
The honed surface is smooth without being slick: a satin feel that keeps the stone natural and makes daily cleaning simple. It has also been filled, which closes the visible pits of the travertine and gives the bowl a more refined look while keeping the character of the stone. The oval has soft, curved edges, and the walls are 2 to 3 cm thick. Each sink shows unique color gradations, veining and surface detail from the hand-carving process, and moderate variation between pieces is normal for this stone.

Where to use it
Sized for a standard vanity
At 16 by 21 inches, the oval fits a standard bathroom vanity without overwhelming it. The light beige pairs well with modern, contemporary, traditional and transitional bathrooms, and it sits easily next to white or wood cabinetry. Set on the counter, the bowl creates a layered, architectural look, even on a simple vanity. The 4 cm drain hole connects to standard plumbing.

Installation
Sits on top of the counter
This is a sit-on sink, and installation is straightforward for a plumber familiar with vessel sinks. The counter must be flat, level and strong enough for solid stone, with a drain hole cut to line up with the 4 cm drain. The bowl is set in silicone. Because the rim stands 6 inches above the counter, the faucet needs to reach over it: a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout. Pick the faucet before the counter is cut.

Care
Travertine is a porous calcite stone, and acids such as vinegar can etch its honed surface. A stone sealer applied at installation protects against staining, and how often it is renewed depends on use, typically every couple of years.
