A long Carrara White vessel, polished
This rectangular vessel sink is carved by hand from Carrara White marble quarried in Turkey. White tones and delicate gray veining run through the stone, and because every block is different, each sink has its own grain and pattern. It is solid stone, carved rather than cast or molded, and it measures 32 inches long, 16 inches wide and 5 inches high. That long, low profile suits a contemporary or transitional vanity and gives a primary bath a basin with real working room.
Design
High polish on a clean rectangle
The surface is polished to a high gloss. The smooth interior lets water run off rather than pool, and polish closes the face of the marble more than a matte finish, so it takes up less water and cleans easily day to day. The reflective surface catches the light and gives even a modest powder room a brighter feel. The form is a clean rectangle with curved edges. There are no sharp inside corners where dust and water can sit, which keeps routine cleaning simple. The walls are 2 to 3 cm thick, carved from a single piece, so the sink is dense and stable in daily use. Moderate color variation and differences in veining between pieces are normal for natural Carrara White.

Because it sits on top of the counter, the sink becomes the visual centerpiece of the vanity, with the counter visible around it. The 4 cm drain hole accommodates standard plumbing connections, so no special modifications are needed. Polished white marble pairs well with chrome, nickel or brass fittings, and its brightness helps in a bathroom with limited daylight.

Installation
Make sure the vanity can carry it
Solid marble of this length is heavy, so the vanity must be strong, flat and level to carry it safely. A drain hole is cut in the counter to line up with the 4 cm drain, and the sink is bedded in silicone. The rim stands 5 inches above the counter, so the faucet must reach over it: a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout. Plan the faucet before the counter is cut. This is not a do-it-yourself sink: professional installation makes sure the vanity handles the weight and that the drain lines up correctly.

Care
Carrara White is a porous calcite marble, so acidic products such as vinegar or lemon juice can etch it, though a polished face hides light etching better than many finishes. It needs periodic sealing, and how often depends on use, typically every 3 to 6 months.
