Carrara White round table on marble legs
This round table is made from Carrara White marble quarried in Turkey, with a polished top and round legs cut from the same white stone. Soft gray veining runs across a white ground, and because the pattern is natural, each table is one of a kind, with moderate variation in tone from piece to piece. The top is 48 inches in diameter and the table stands 36 inches high. That height sits above a standard dining table and suits counter stools or tall chairs, in a kitchen, a breakfast nook or an open dining area. Each table is made individually by skilled stoneworkers in Turkey.
Design
Round marble legs, polished top
Top and legs are both solid marble, so the base matches the surface instead of contrasting with it. The round legs carry the circular top in the same white and gray stone, and the whole piece reads as one material from floor to rim, with no hollow base and no mixed materials. The top is polished, which brightens the white and sharpens the gray veins, and its edges are eased so they feel rounded under the hand and are less prone to chipping than a sharp corner. The veining varies across the top, gathering in drifts in one area and thinning to fine lines in another, and that pattern is different on every table. Slight differences in tone between the top and the legs are part of the stone.

Delivery and setup
Delivery in a wooden crate
The table arrives in a reinforced wooden crate, and solid marble at this size is very heavy, so a delivery team of several people is needed to uncrate it and carry it to the room. Doorways, stairs and turns along the route should be measured before delivery day. The floor where it stands must be level and solid, since a stone table on an uneven floor will rock. Felt or rubber pads under the legs protect wood and tile floors. Once placed, it should be moved only with enough hands to lift it rather than drag it.

Care
Carrara White is a porous calcite marble with a polished finish. Acids such as wine, lemon juice and vinegar can etch the polish, and spills that sit can stain the white stone. Sealing helps the surface resist stains, and how often it is resealed depends on how much the table is used; a busy kitchen table needs it more often than one used now and then. Over years of use the polish develops a soft patina, and because the table is solid marble, wear can be professionally restored.
