A round bowl of beige travertine
This round vessel sink is carved by hand from beige travertine quarried in Turkey. Travertine has been used by builders and stone carvers for centuries, and it is still chosen for the same reason: a warm, quiet colour with real depth. Each bowl is cut from its own block, so the beige tones, the fine veining and the small mineral marks in the stone are never repeated. The sink measures 16 inches in diameter and 6 inches high, with walls 2 to 3 cm thick. It sits on top of the counter as the focal point of the vanity, a carved piece of stone that does the everyday work of a bathroom sink.
Design
Honed, filled and softly curved
The finish is honed and filled. Honing grinds the surface flat without taking it to a gloss, which leaves a soft, almost matte sheen with a rustic but refined feel. A matte face shows fewer fingerprints and water spots than a shiny one, and it feels smooth under the hand. Filling closes the natural pores of the travertine, so the bowl has a more even surface and fewer open pits where water and residue can sit. The result is a calmer, more uniform look than open-texture stone, while the veining and colour shifts of the travertine still show through. The shape is a plain round bowl with curved walls and a smooth rim. There are no sharp edges or corners where soap scum and hard water deposits tend to build up, which makes the basin quicker to clean than an angular design. Small natural marks in the stone are part of the material, and minor wear blends into it over time rather than standing out.

Where to use it
A warm bowl for the vanity
At 16 inches across and 6 inches high, the bowl sits above the counter and gives the vanity a sculptural centre without needing much room, which suits bathrooms where space is at a premium. Unlike a sink set into the counter, a vessel stays in view and becomes a deliberate part of the design. The round outline works with contemporary, minimalist and spa-style bathrooms, and the warm beige settles just as easily into transitional and classic rooms, next to wood, plaster, linen tones or aged brass. The 4 cm drain hole works with standard bathroom drain fittings, with no special adapters.

Installation
Set it on a level counter
Installation is straightforward for a plumber or a contractor. The counter must be flat, level and strong, because solid stone is heavy. A drain hole is cut in the counter to line up with the 4 cm drain, and the bowl is set on a bead of silicone. There is no undermount cutout and no clips under the counter. The bowl adds 6 inches above the counter, so the faucet must clear the rim: a tall vessel faucet on the deck or a wall-mounted spout. Pick the faucet before the counter is cut, and check that the vanity height still leaves the rim at a comfortable level.

This sink is made to order on two schedules. The 3 to 4 week option ships sooner, while the 8 to 14 week option is the lower-priced choice; both are the same honed 16 inch bowl. Care
Travertine is a porous calcite stone. Filling closes the larger pores, but the stone can still absorb moisture and be etched by acids such as citrus or vinegar, and sealing helps keep moisture and stains out. How often it is resealed depends on use.
