GMSTONE Handcrafted Beige Natural Travertine Oval Vessel Bathroom Sink 22 Inch

Travertine · Vessel sink
This oval vessel sink is handcrafted from solid beige travertine quarried in Turkey. It measures 22 inches long, 18 inches wide and 6 inches high, a size that sits comfortably on a powder room vanity, in an ensuite or in a primary bath. Each sink is a single-piece carving, with walls 2 to 3 cm thick, so it has the weight and substance of solid stone rather than the thin shell of a molded bowl. The natural veining and color variation are not flaws to hide. They are what marks the sink as quarried stone, and they mean no two pieces are the same.

Design
The finish is honed and filled. Honing gives the stone a smooth, matte surface with a soft texture, warmer to look at than a high polish and less slippery when wet. Filling closes the natural pits of the travertine, so the face is even and gives dirt fewer places to settle. The oval is shaped with smooth, curved walls inside and out, and there are no tight corners where grime can gather. The curved profile draws the eye across the vanity and makes the sink read as a deliberate choice rather than a utility. Because every sink is carved by hand, dimensions can vary slightly from one piece to the next, and moderate color variation between sinks is normal for this stone. That variation is a mark of handwork, not mass manufacture.

Where to use it
This vessel sink suits bathrooms where it will be used with some care, and it shines in a few settings in particular. In a guest powder room, it becomes the piece visitors comment on. In a primary ensuite used mostly by one or two people, it rewards an appreciation of natural materials. In contemporary and transitional bathrooms, its texture sits well beside wood, plaster and matte metal. In these rooms, looking after the stone feels like caring for a wood floor or a marble counter rather than a chore. The raised bowl is a natural focal point, especially paired with a wall-mounted or tall deck-mounted faucet. As with any vessel sink, the rim can collect water spots between cleanings. The 4 cm drain hole takes a standard vessel pop-up drain.

Installation
Solid travertine is heavy, so the counter under it must be flat, level and strong. A drain hole is cut in the counter to line up with the 4 cm drain, and the bowl is set in silicone. The rim stands 6 inches above the counter, so the faucet has to reach over it: a tall vessel faucet on the deck or a wall-mounted spout. Choose the faucet before the counter is cut so the holes line up. Installation is straightforward for a plumber used to vessel sink heights, and it is worth checking the total height of vanity and bowl at the planning stage.
Why we chose it
Made to order
This sink is made to order on two schedules: the 3 to 4 week option ships sooner, while the 8 to 14 week option is the lower-priced choice. Both are the same honed and filled oval in the same size. If the vanity or the design calls for something different, the bowl can be made in a custom size or finish. To start a custom order, contact us with the measurements of the counter.
Travertine is a porous calcite stone, so acids such as citrus or vinegar can etch the honed surface. The sink arrives sealed, and how often it is resealed depends on use, commonly every 6 to 12 months.
