Honey onyx, carved into a round bowl
This round vessel sink is carved by hand from a single block of honey onyx quarried in Turkey. Onyx is a banded stone, and its warm honey and brown tones run through the bowl in soft striations and color gradations that shift from one side to the other. Because every sink is carved individually, the veining, the depth of color and the natural character of each piece are its own, and no two bowls are the same. It measures 16 inches in diameter and 6 inches high, a proportion that gives comfortable room for daily washing while keeping the bowl compact on the counter. The sink is made to order, one piece at a time, rather than produced on a line.
Design
A polished bowl with warm bands
The surface is polished to a high shine. Polishing brings out the translucent quality onyx is known for, so light seems to sit inside the stone rather than on top of it, and the glossy face reflects the room around it. The honey tones and natural striations read as warm without being heavy, and they sit comfortably in transitional, modern, rustic and classic bathrooms. The bowl is a clean round shape with a smooth rim. Because it is a vessel sink, it rises above the counter, which separates the basin visually from the vanity, the mirror and the faucet, and that layered look is a large part of why stone vessel bowls are chosen for a bathroom that is meant to feel considered. Moderate color variation between sinks is normal for onyx, so the bands in each bowl will differ in tone and spacing.

Where the bowl fits
At 16 inches across, the bowl suits a powder room vanity and is still roomy enough for a primary bath. The honey color pairs with warm wood, cream or white counters, plaster walls and brass or bronze fittings, and it softens a bathroom built around cooler materials. Set above the counter, the sink is easy to clean around, and it needs no undermount cutout. The 4 cm drain hole takes standard drain connections. The bowl stands 6 inches above the counter, so it pairs with a taller faucet, either deck-mounted or wall-mounted, and that faucet becomes part of the composition rather than an afterthought. The sink is solid and heavy for its size, so it sits steadily on the counter without shifting.

Installation
Set it on a flat counter
The counter under a stone vessel sink must be flat, level and strong, since solid onyx is heavy. A drain hole is cut in the counter to line up with the 4 cm drain in the bowl, and the sink is set on a bead of silicone, which holds it in place and keeps water from running underneath. The faucet must reach over the rim: a tall vessel faucet mounted on the deck, or a spout mounted on the wall behind the sink. Choosing the faucet before the counter is drilled saves rework, and an installer familiar with natural stone will handle the bowl with the care a polished surface needs.

Care
Onyx is a softer, porous calcite stone, so acidic substances such as vinegar, citrus or some soaps can etch its polished face, and regular sealing keeps moisture from being absorbed. How often it is resealed depends on how much the sink is used.
