A black marble apron front sink
This apron front sink is carved by hand from black marble quarried in Turkey. It measures 16 inches wide, 24 inches long and 6 inches high, with walls 2 to 3 cm thick, and it is listed for both kitchen and bathroom use. Each piece is one of a kind, with natural veining that formed in the stone rather than a printed pattern.
Design
Polished black, natural veining
The polished black finish reflects light differently from every angle, which gives the stone visible depth. The veining varies moderately from sink to sink, and that individuality is what separates carved marble from a surface made to look like stone. Over time the marble develops character that reflects real use. The rectangular basin with its apron front gives a strong, simple outline, and the black works across modern, contemporary, traditional and transitional rooms.

Where to use it
Kitchen prep or bathroom basin
At 16 by 24 inches and 6 inches high, the basin has real capacity without needing a large cabinet. In a kitchen it works as a prep or bar sink, or as the main sink in a small kitchen; in a bathroom it makes a strong focal point on a vanity. The apron front shortens the reach forward during daily washing. The 4 cm drain hole takes standard fittings, and the sink has no overflow.

Installation
A cabinet sized to the sink
The sink is listed for above-counter installation with the apron front exposed. The cabinet below is sized to the sink and must be level and strong enough for solid marble, which is heavy. Plan the drain and the faucet before the counter is cut: a tall faucet or a wall-mounted faucet gives good reach over the rim. A professional installer is recommended.

Sized to the cabinet
This sink is made to order on two schedules. The 3 to 4 week option ships sooner, while the 8 to 14 week option is the lower-priced choice; both are the same polished 16 by 24 inch sink. The dimensions can also be changed to fit a specific cabinet, and custom finishes can be made as well. To start a custom order, contact us with the measurements of the cabinet.
Care
Black marble is a porous calcite stone with a polished surface. Acids from food or cleaners can etch the gloss, and periodic resealing keeps up its protection against water and stains. How often depends on use.
