Black marble, a polished 16 inch bowl
This round vessel sink is handcrafted from black marble quarried in Turkey. It measures 16 inches in diameter and 6 inches high, and it is polished inside and out. The dark stone is crossed by distinctive white veining, and because that veining and the depth of the black change from block to block, no two sinks are identical. Set above the counter, the bowl becomes the focal point of the vanity; set below it, the black basin shows from above through the counter opening.
Design
Dark stone, white veins, one curve
The design is deliberately simple: a round bowl with smooth walls and no carving. That streamlined shape puts the attention on the marble itself, the contrast of fine white veins against a deep black base. The polished finish gives the bowl a smooth, reflective surface that catches light and makes the veining stand out clearly. A smooth, polished basin also has no rough texture or crevices for soap scum to settle into, which keeps it easy to rinse. The interior curves evenly down to the drain. The color and veining are natural, so their pattern and density vary from sink to sink, and moderate variation between pieces is normal for this stone.

A dark bowl for many styles
The 16 inch diameter gives ample room for daily use, and the 6 inch height sits in proportion on a vanity: bold enough to stand out without overwhelming a compact bathroom. Black marble works as a strong contrast on a white or light wood counter and as a quiet, tonal choice in a darker room. The round form suits modern, contemporary, traditional and transitional bathrooms, and pairs with brass, nickel or black fixtures. The 4 cm drain hole is compatible with standard bathroom drain connections, so the plumbing is the same as for any vessel or undermount sink.

Installation
Above the counter or under it
The bowl can be installed above the countertop or as an undermount. Above the counter, it needs a flat, level, strong top, a drain hole cut to line up with the 4 cm drain, and a bead of silicone beneath it; because the bowl then stands 6 inches high, the faucet has to reach over the rim, so a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout is required. As an undermount, the counter is cut to an opening sized to the bowl, the sink is fixed and sealed to the underside, and a standard deck faucet sits behind it. Solid marble is heavy either way. Decide the mounting and choose the faucet before the counter is cut, and use a professional installer.

Care
Black marble is a porous calcite stone with a polished surface. Acidic products such as vinegar or lemon-based cleaners can etch the polish and leave dull marks that show on a dark stone. Sealing helps protect against water rings and stains, and how often it is resealed depends on use, typically once or twice a year.
