Noce brown travertine farmhouse sink
This farmhouse apron sink is carved by hand from solid Noce brown travertine quarried in Turkey. Each basin has its own subtle color variations and natural veining, so every sink is one of a kind.
Design
A honed, filled apron front
The finish is honed and filled: the natural pits of the travertine are closed and the surface is honed to a smooth matte face. The exposed apron front is finished with curved edges and no rough spots where dirt or soap residue can settle. Moderate color variation is normal for this stone.

Where to use it
Deep enough for real cooking
At 18 inches wide, 30 inches long and 10 inches deep, the basin has room for full-size cookware, stacked dishes and meal prep, with less splashing than a shallow sink. The 6.5 cm drain hole takes a kitchen drain fitting. It pairs with reclaimed wood or modern chrome fixtures, and travertine handles the move from cold water to hot dishwater well.

Installation
Size the cabinet to the sink
The sink installs either above the counter or as an undermount, with the apron left exposed. In both cases the base cabinet is sized to the sink, and the counter cutout is made from the sink itself. Solid travertine is heavy, so the cabinet needs strong support. A professional installer is recommended.

Care
Travertine is a porous calcite stone, so acidic foods such as wine, citrus or vinegar can etch it. Filling and sealing help it resist water and stains, and how often it is resealed depends on use.
