Silver Travertine table on conic legs
This coffee table is handcrafted from Silver Travertine quarried in Turkey, cut along the vein and honed. Vein-cut stone is sliced parallel to how it forms, revealing straight veins that run across the entire surface. Gray veining and earthy tones give the table a sculptural, grounded look. It measures 48 inches long, 24 inches wide and 16 inches high, a generous size for a sofa or sectional.
Design
Straight veins, tapered legs
The honed finish is smooth and matte, showing the stone without an added sheen. Honing removes the top layer of the stone with abrasives to reveal a smooth surface underneath, an understated finish that suits many interiors. Sculptural conic legs anchor the long surface while keeping it visually light, and the contemporary silhouette moves easily between minimalist, transitional, modern and traditional rooms. Natural variation in color, texture and veining means no two tables are identical, and those differences are a mark of real travertine.

At 48 by 24 inches, the table gives plenty of surface for books, trays and a centerpiece, and at 16 inches high it sits low in front of a sofa. The honed finish does not show wear as prominently as a glossy one, which suits a busy family room and a lived-in look. The gray tones pair with cool or warm palettes, wood floors and linen upholstery. In a long living room, the rectangle follows the line of the sofa and leaves walkways clear at each end.

The table ships in protective wooden crating. Solid travertine at this length is heavy, so two or more people should uncrate it and carry it to its place. A level floor lets the conic legs bear evenly. Felt pads under the legs protect hardwood and tile, and the table should be lifted, not dragged, when it moves.

Care
Silver Travertine is a porous calcite stone with a honed surface. Acidic substances such as wine or citrus juice can etch it, and spills left to sit can stain. When properly sealed it resists stains and moisture better, and how often it is resealed depends on use. Direct heat from hot items can mark or crack stone. With care it ages gracefully, developing a patina that many find adds to its character.
