Product Description
Taj Opus Mirage Sand is a 2x2 matte porcelain mosaic that carries a beige marble look. Its grid of small squares distributes the Taj Mahal stone-inspired markings in compact segments, with a slight shimmer running through the warm color. The combination brings fine visual detail to bathroom and kitchen surfaces without the glare of polish.
Each 2x2 mosaic piece has a 9 mm, or 3/8 inch, thickness. A matte finish diffuses light across the squares, and the V3 shade rating allows appreciable changes in color and pattern throughout a sheet. Rated locations include backsplashes, shower walls and floors, residential interior walls, and bathroom floors and walls.
Absorbing 0.5% water or less, the material qualifies as impervious porcelain. That limit means it takes in almost no water and resists staining from inside the tile body. Breaking strength is at least 425 pounds, notably higher than the ANSI floor-tile minimum of 250 pounds. A wet DCOF of 0.42 or above meets ANSI A326.3 for level indoor floors that get wet. It has Class E chemical resistance and withstands frost and thermal shock.
The product is sold by the sheet, and one sheet covers 0.97 square feet. Each 38-pound box contains 10 sheets. Mirage Sand companions include 12x24 tile, 24x48 tile, and the 4 inch hexagon mosaic. Emperial Grey matte supplies another option in the 2x2 format.
