Product Description
Taj Opus Mirage Sand is a 2x2 polished porcelain mosaic colored in a warm beige marble look. Small square pieces carry the fine shimmer and flowing character associated with Taj Mahal stone, while the polished surface sharpens highlights within the pattern.
The compact 2x2 format breaks the stone design into a measured grid suited to detailed wall areas. Its 9 mm, or 3/8 inch, thickness matches the profile of the field tile in the collection. V3 shade variation means neighboring pieces can differ noticeably in tone and veining, creating movement across each sheet. Rated applications are backsplashes, shower walls, and other residential interior walls in kitchens and bathrooms.
The porcelain body has water absorption of 0.5% or less, which meets the ANSI definition of impervious and allows almost no water into the material. Breaking strength is at least 425 pounds, well beyond the 250-pound ANSI requirement for floor tile. Frost and thermal shock resistance are confirmed, and the chemical resistance classification is E.
Sheets are sold individually and cover 0.97 square feet apiece. A box holds 10 sheets and weighs 38 pounds. Coordinating Mirage Sand formats include 12x24, 24x24, and 24x48 field tile, as well as the 4 inch hexagon mosaic.
