Toros Black, polished and combed
This round vessel sink is carved by hand from Toros Black marble quarried in Turkey, a dark stone chosen for its density and its fine, lighter veining. The bowl is 16 inches in diameter and 5 inches high. Its character comes from two finishes: a polished interior and a combed, rough exterior. Each sink is carved individually, so the veining, the small colour shifts and the texture of the outer surface are different in every piece, and no two bowls are the same.
Design
Two finishes on one bowl
Inside, the basin is polished to a smooth, reflective black that catches light and gives water an even surface to run across. Outside, the stone is combed: worked into fine parallel grooves that give the bowl a rough, tactile surface. From different angles the grooves catch light and shadow, so the exterior seems to move as you walk past it. The edges are curved, with no sharp angles to collect debris. The two surfaces meet at the rim, where the gloss of the basin stops and the grooved texture begins. Moderate colour variation is normal for Toros Black, and lighter streaks in the stone are part of its natural pattern.
Polished interior
A smooth, glossy black basin that shows the veining of the marble.
Combed exterior
A rough, grooved texture worked into the outside of the bowl.
Where to use it
A round bowl that fits most vanities
The round shape is easy to place. At 16 inches across, the bowl has presence without overwhelming a vanity, so it works on a compact powder room top as well as in a spacious primary bath, and two can sit side by side on a double vanity. The dark stone reads well against white or gray counters, light wood and painted cabinets, and it suits transitional bathrooms in particular, sitting between modern and classic. Brass, black and satin nickel fittings all work with it. The 4 cm drain hole takes standard drain fittings, so the bowl pairs with a standard vessel drain.

Installation
Set it on a level counter
This is an above-counter sink, and solid marble is heavy, so the counter must be flat, level and strong. A drain hole is cut in the counter to line up with the 4 cm drain, and the bowl is set in silicone. Because it stands 5 inches above the counter, the faucet has to reach over the rim, so plan for a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout and choose it before the counter is cut. A professional installer is recommended for setting stone.

Both are the same 16 inch bowl with a polished interior and a rough, combed exterior. Care
Toros Black is a marble, a porous calcite stone, so acids such as vinegar or lemon can etch the polished interior. The combed exterior can also show light marks from mineral-rich water over time. Sealing slows absorption, and how often it is resealed depends on use, typically once or twice a year.
