A half-round sink in light travertine
This compact bathroom sink is carved from solid Troia light travertine quarried in Turkey. Its half-round, U-shaped outline has a straight back that sits flat against the wall and a curved front that softens the corner of a small room. The pale, near-white stone carries the natural pitting and warm earthy undertones of travertine, with a honed finish. It measures 10 inches wide, 16 inches long and 6 inches high, sized for powder rooms, alcoves and tight layouts where a full vanity would not fit.
Design
Straight back, curved front
The half-round form keeps the projection from the wall short while leaving a usable basin. The honed matte surface is calmer than a glossy one and less likely to show water spots and everyday marks. Travertine's natural texture gives the stone a collected, handmade look, and each basin arrives with its own color and pattern. Moderate variation between pieces is normal: no two sinks are identical.

Where to use it
Small rooms, open floor
Hung on the wall, the sink leaves the floor clear, which makes a small bathroom or powder room look and feel larger. With no cabinet underneath there are no corners to collect dust, and the open floor supports accessible, aging-in-place layouts. The same sink can also be set on a countertop when a vanity is preferred. A 4 cm drain hole takes conventional basin drain components.

Installation
Wall or counter, planned early
Mounted on the wall, a stone sink needs solid backing: blocking between the studs at the mounting height, added while the wall is open, and brackets sized for the stone. The faucet is usually wall-mounted above the basin, so the supply lines and drain should be roughed in to match before the wall is closed. Set on a countertop instead, the sink needs a flat, level surface with a drain hole cut to line up, and it is set in silicone. A professional installer is recommended in both cases, for the weight of the stone and so the plumbing lines up cleanly.

Care
Travertine is a porous calcite stone with a natural, honed surface. Acidic liquids such as vinegar or lemon can etch it, and the stone is protected with a sealer that is renewed from time to time; how often depends on how much the sink is used.
