This oval coffee table is carved from vein-cut Light Travertine quarried in Turkey and finished with a polish. Each slab is chosen for its veining and warm beige and brown tones, and because the stone is natural, every table differs a little in pattern and color. It measures 48 inches long, 24 inches wide and 16 inches high. The soft oval outline and sculpted base make it a centerpiece for contemporary, transitional and minimalist living rooms, and the table is carved entirely from stone rather than finished with a veneer.

Design

Oval top on V-shaped legs

Two features define the design. The first is the oval top: soft, inviting and free of harsh corners, it follows the current preference for organic shapes over strict rectangles. The second is the base, V-shaped travertine legs cut from the same block as the top, which give the table architectural presence and carry the long surface. The vein cut runs the bands of the stone in calm lines rather than a busy mottle. The polished finish brings out richer color in the travertine and leaves a smooth, refined surface.
