A light travertine pedestal sink
This stand-alone pedestal sink is carved by hand in Turkey from two solid blocks of light travertine. A rectangular basin sits on a cylindrical column, and together they stand 33.5 inches high, with a footprint of 16 inches by 15 inches. Each sink is cut individually, so no two pieces are identical.
Design
Basin and column in one stone
The finish is honed and filled: a smooth, matte surface with the natural pores of the travertine filled, which gives the stone a more even, controlled look while keeping its natural character. The rectangular basin has curved edges and a smooth interior with no corners for water or buildup to collect. Below it, the cylindrical pedestal rises about 28.5 inches and hides the plumbing lines, so the sink reads as a clean, minimal column of stone. The warm, light beige brings softness to a bathroom. Color shifts, pore patterns and slight texture differences between pieces are normal for travertine, and moderate variation is expected.

The cylindrical pedestal conceals the supply and drain lines.
Where to use it
A freestanding piece
With no vanity or wall brackets, the sink stands on its own, which suits a powder room or a bathroom where the floor should stay open. Its modern lines fit contemporary rooms, and the warm stone also works with traditional detailing. The sink has a 4 cm drain hole that connects to standard plumbing.

Installation
A strong, level floor
Two blocks of solid travertine are heavy, so the floor must be level and strong enough to carry the full weight of the stone. The drain and supply lines can come from the wall or the floor, and they need to fall inside the column so it hides them. The faucet can mount on the wall above the basin. A professional installer is recommended.

This pedestal sink is made to order on two schedules: the 3 to 4 week option ships sooner, while the 8 to 14 week option is the lower-priced choice. Both are the same honed and filled pedestal. Care
Travertine is a porous calcite stone, so acids such as vinegar or lemon juice can etch it. Sealing protects the surface from moisture, and how often it is resealed depends on use, often once a year.
