Product Description
Tuxedo Obsidian Black is a diamond pattern matte porcelain mosaic with a solid black appearance and 9 mm, or 3/8 inch, thickness. Angled outlines bring directional movement to the dark surface, while the low-sheen finish keeps the geometry from becoming reflective. The surrounding collection repeats Obsidian Black across rectangular field tile, trim, and other mosaic shapes.
The diamond format creates diagonal lines and pointed intersections that read differently from square or hexagonal layouts. Its matte surface diffuses room light, and V1 shade variation maintains a closely matched color among the individual pieces. Rated uses span backsplashes, shower walls and floors, residential interior walls, and bathroom floors and walls in kitchens and bathrooms.
Water absorption is 0.5% or less, defining the body as impervious porcelain that absorbs almost no moisture. The tile provides breaking strength of at least 325 pounds, above the 250-pound ANSI A137.1 minimum for floor tile. Wet DCOF reaches at least 0.42, satisfying the ANSI A326.3 level for flat indoor floors that become wet. It also carries resistance to frost and thermal shock.
This mosaic is priced and sold by the sheet, with 0.84 square foot on each sheet. A box contains five pieces and weighs 16 pounds. Other Obsidian Black choices include 12x24 tile, 24x48 tile, 3 inch hexagon mosaic, and 4x24 bullnose.
