Product Description
Tuxedo Obsidian Black is a 12x12 polished porcelain tile defined by an even, solid black surface. The polished face catches light and brings reflection to the compact square, giving the dark color a brighter visual edge. Rectified sides maintain precise geometry, and each tile has a 9 mm, or 3/8 inch, thickness.
The 12x12 scale produces a frequent square rhythm that works comfortably on smaller wall areas and light-duty residential floors. Its V1 shade designation signals very little variation, so adjacent pieces retain a consistent black tone. Rated locations include residential and commercial interior walls, shower walls, backsplashes, and light residential floors in bathrooms, kitchens, or living rooms.
With water absorption at 0.5% or below, the porcelain qualifies as impervious and takes up almost no water through its body. Minimum breaking strength is 325 pounds, exceeding the 250-pound ANSI requirement used for floor tile. The wet DCOF measures 0.42 or higher, the ANSI A326.3 benchmark for level interior floors that get wet. This tile also carries resistance to frost and thermal shock.
Sold by the box and priced per square foot, the tile provides 9.68 square feet from 10 pieces. A full box weighs 42 pounds. The same Obsidian Black line includes 12x24 polished tile, 24x48 polished tile, a diamond mosaic, and a 4x24 bullnose.
