Valencia Travertine nesting set of three
This is a set of three round tables in Valencia Travertine, quarried in Turkey, cut along the vein, filled and polished. Vein cutting slices the stone parallel to its layers, so each top shows linear bands that record how the travertine formed, and every piece in the set carries its own pattern. The three tables are graduated: 12 inches in diameter and 22 inches high, 16 inches in diameter and 18 inches high, and 20 inches in diameter and 14 inches high. Together they work as one coffee table; apart, they become side tables and accent surfaces around a room. Each set is handcrafted by Turkish stoneworkers.
Design
Sphere legs and vein-cut tops
Each table stands on sphere-shaped travertine legs that carry a 1 inch thick top. The round tops and spherical legs give the set a sculptural outline with clean lines, and the warm beige and brown tones run through every part. The finish is filled and polished: the natural pores of the travertine are filled, and the surface is polished to a gloss that brings out the vein pattern and reflects light. The round shapes leave no sharp edges and encourage a conversational layout. Because the stone is natural, color depth, vein placement and tone shift from table to table, and no two sets are exactly alike.

Where to use it
One set, many arrangements
Grouped together, the three tables make a layered centerpiece in front of a sofa, with the tallest at the back and the lowest at the front, so each surface stays in view. The nesting arrangement saves floor in a compact living room. Separated, the tables work as side tables beside chairs, as a nightstand or as a stand for a plant or a piece of art, which suits people who rearrange often. The warm, earthy tones sit naturally in Scandinavian, Mediterranean and contemporary rooms. The lowest table takes books and a tray, the middle one drinks, and the tallest a lamp or a vase.

Delivery and setup
Each table is solid travertine and heavy, so two people should carry and place each piece. The floor should be level so the sphere legs sit evenly without rocking. Felt pads under the legs protect wood floors and tile. When the tables are nested, a little space between them lets each one be moved without scraping the others.

Care
Valencia Travertine is a porous calcite stone, here with filled pores and a polished surface. Acidic drinks and foods can etch the polish, and liquids left to sit can mark it. Periodic sealing helps the stone resist stains, and how often the tables are resealed depends on use. Over the years the polish gains a gentle patina.
