The green quartzites
Green is the color where quartzite leads. Emerald Green, Dublin Green and Malachite Green are saturated greens with darker veining. Amazonite and Amazzoni Quartzite lean toward sea green and turquoise, Da Vinci and Fusion Green mix green with rust and gold, and Verde Lapponia is a darker stone with a heavier pattern. Venom, Jadore and Tiffany Crystal each have their own mix of green, white and gray.
Why choose quartzite for green
A green marble is soft and best on a vanity or a fireplace. A green quartzite is hard enough for a kitchen island or a busy perimeter countertop, because it is mostly quartz and resists scratches and acid. That is why green quartzite has become the usual choice when a green stone is wanted in a kitchen.
Finish and thickness
Most green quartzite slabs here are polished, which deepens the green. A few are honed for a flat matte face, and some are leathered, a brushed surface that keeps the color rich without shine. Nearly all are 1 1/4 inch, the countertop thickness.
