Calacatta Verde marble with a built-in backsplash
This rectangular wall-mount sink is carved from Calacatta Verde marble quarried in Turkey. It measures 34 inches long, 16 inches wide and 12 inches high, and the height includes a 10 inch backsplash carved as part of the same piece, so the sink and the stone behind it read as one unit on the wall. The long basin gives plenty of room for daily use, while the 16 inch depth keeps it from projecting too far into a smaller bathroom or powder room. The stone has a white background with gray veining and purple tones running through it. The veining is natural, so each sink carries its own pattern, and the one that arrives will not match any other. Each sink is made by hand in Turkey, cut and finished to order.
Design
A long basin, polished all over
The sink is polished inside and out. That gives the interior and the exterior the same glossy finish, so the veining continues around the sink without a change in texture from basin to front face. Polishing closes the surface of the marble, which brings out the colour of the veins and helps keep dirt and staining agents from settling into the stone. The basin itself is a clean rectangle, long and shallow enough to work as a single wide sink for one person or as a shared wash area. Behind it, the integrated 10 inch backsplash is about 3/4 inch thick and is carved from the same marble, so the wall directly behind the faucet is protected from splashes, which matters most on a wall-mounted sink where water runs close to the wall. Moderate variation in colour and vein pattern between sinks is normal for this stone.

Where to use it
On the wall or on a vanity
Mounted on the wall, the sink leaves the floor open, which helps a guest bathroom or a compact layout feel larger and makes the floor underneath easy to clean. The underside has a 1 inch bracket space so the sink can sit on wall brackets with a clean line. The design also allows an above-vanity installation: if the plan changes, or if a cabinet is wanted for storage, the same sink can sit on top of a vanity instead. The 34 inch length suits a primary bath with a wide wall, and it works well in a powder room where the sink is the main feature. The sink has a 1.77 inch pre-drilled drain hole that meets standard drain specifications, so water drains away without pooling in the basin.

Installation
Prepare the wall first
Solid marble with a backsplash is heavy, so a wall-mounted installation starts with the wall. Blocking between the studs at the mounting height gives the brackets something solid to fix into, and it is simplest to add while the wall is open. The 1 inch space underneath the sink leaves room for the brackets. With a backsplash in the design, a wall-mounted faucet is the natural choice, and its position should be decided early so the supply lines can be run to match. If the sink will sit on a vanity instead, the top must be flat, level and strong enough to carry the stone, and the sink is set in silicone. A professional installer is recommended, both for the weight and so the drain and supply lines line up cleanly.

This sink is made to order on two production schedules. The 3 to 4 week option ships sooner, while the 8 to 14 week option is the lower-priced choice. Beyond the standard 34 by 16 inch size, the sink can be made with different dimensions, in another shape or finish, or with changes to the backsplash. Care
Calacatta Verde is a calcite marble, with a hardness of about 3 to 4 on the Mohs scale, so it is a porous, relatively soft stone. Acidic liquids such as vinegar or lemon juice can etch the polished surface and leave dull spots. The sink arrives sealed, and how often it is resealed depends on how much the bathroom is used.
