A Calacatta Viola pedestal that stands alone
This stand-alone pedestal sink is handcrafted from Calacatta Viola marble quarried in Turkey, combined with wood. The marble has a creamy white surface streaked with bold gray and charcoal veining, and because every piece is cut from its own block, no two sinks are identical. It measures 20 inches wide, 30 inches long and 34 inches high, so it arrives as a complete piece of bathroom furniture rather than a basin that needs a vanity underneath. The surfaces are polished, which brings the veining forward and gives the white a soft shine.
Design
Polished marble with strong veining
The veining is the reason to choose this stone. Gray and charcoal lines cross the white in bold, irregular streaks, so each sink has its own pattern and the piece reads as a single sculptural object in the room. The polished finish frames that pattern without competing with it. The basin edges are curved, which removes awkward corners and helps keep water inside the bowl. Because the sink stands on its own, it is seen from more than one side, and the full height of the stone is part of the design. Moderate color variation between pieces is normal for this marble.

Plan the floor and the plumbing
A stand-alone sink carries its full weight on the floor, and solid marble is heavy. The floor must be level and strong enough to support it, which is worth checking before delivery, especially on an upper floor. Supply and drain lines can come from the wall behind the sink or up through the floor, and their position should be set to match the drain before the finished wall or floor goes in. The faucet can be mounted on the wall above the basin. A professional installer is recommended for the weight and the plumbing connections.

Care
Calacatta Viola is a porous calcite marble, so acidic liquids such as vinegar or citrus can etch the polished surface and dull it. Sealing slows liquid absorption, and how often the stone is resealed depends on how much the sink is used and on the humidity of the room.
