Calacatta Viola with built-in storage
This 40 inch wall-mounted sink is carved by hand from solid Calacatta Viola marble quarried in Turkey. A white stone is crossed by bold veining in purple and gray, and since each sink is carved from its own piece of marble, the pattern never repeats. It measures 40 inches long, 18 inches wide and 12 inches high, and it combines three things in one piece of stone: a basin with a hidden drain, built-in towel storage and a wall-mount design.
Design
Hidden drain, open shelf
The drain is concealed, so no plumbing hardware interrupts the marble and the veining stays the focus. Below the basin, a built-in storage space holds folded towels, using wall space that would otherwise go unused. The whole piece is polished, which reflects light across the purple and gray veining. The basin edges are smooth and curved, and the construction leaves no crevices where dirt can settle. Moderate variation in veining and tone between pieces is normal for this marble.

A built-in space below the basin, carved into the same stone.
Where to use it
A floating vanity in one piece
Mounted on the wall, the sink keeps the floor open and gives the room a lighter look, which helps a smaller bathroom feel more spacious. At 40 inches long it offers a long basin for daily use, and the 12 inch height leaves room for the storage below without overwhelming a tight space. It suits a primary bath or a larger powder room. The sink can also be set above a vanity.

Installation
Prepare the wall for solid marble
A 40 inch piece of solid marble with integrated storage is heavy, so the wall needs reinforcement before the sink is hung. Blocking between the studs at the mounting height is easiest to add while the wall is open, and the sink is fixed on brackets rated for the weight. Because the drain is hidden, its position must be planned with the plumber before the wall is closed. A wall-mounted faucet is the usual choice, so its supply lines need to be set as well. Professional installation is recommended. Set above a vanity, the top must be flat, level and strong.

Care
Calacatta Viola is a porous calcite marble, so acids such as vinegar or lemon can etch its polished surface. It is sealed to resist water and staining, and how often it is resealed depends on use, typically once a year.
