This vessel sink is carved by hand from Carrara White marble quarried in Turkey. The inside is a smooth, polished basin; the outside is left hand chiseled, with the marks of the tool still in the stone. It measures 22 inches long, 16 inches wide and 5 inches high, and its outline follows the stone rather than a fixed template, so each sink has a slightly irregular, organic shape. Every piece carries its own mineral inclusions, veining and surface character, and none can be reproduced.

Design
Two finishes on one stone
The contrast between the two surfaces is the point of this sink. The polished interior is smooth to the touch, so soap and residue rinse away without catching in any texture, and the white marble shows its soft gray veining clearly. The hand chiseled exterior is the opposite: rough, faceted and full of shadow, it catches light from every angle and makes the bowl look cut from a boulder. The rustic outside gives the sink its presence on the counter, while the smooth inside keeps it practical for daily use. The rim and inner edges are curved, with no sharp angles or hard corners where water and debris collect. The walls are 2 to 3 cm thick. Carrara White has a soft white ground with gray veining, and because the outline and chiseling are done by hand, no two sinks share the same shape, texture or pattern. Moderate color variation between pieces is normal for this stone.

Where the rustic bowl fits
The soft white and gray tones of the marble suit contemporary, transitional and classic rooms. The chiseled outside adds a rustic note, so the sink works as well against a reclaimed wood vanity or a plaster wall as it does on a crisp painted cabinet. At 22 by 16 inches and 5 inches high, the bowl sits comfortably on most vanities and has a strong presence without crowding the counter. The sink has a 4 cm drain hole that takes standard drain connections without modification.

Installation
Set on a flat, strong counter
This is an above-counter sink. Solid marble is heavy, so the counter must be flat, level and well supported. A drain hole is cut in the counter to line up with the 4 cm drain, and the sink is bedded in silicone. Because the base is carved by hand, the installer should check that it sits evenly before the silicone sets. The basin stands 5 inches above the counter, so the faucet must reach over the rim: a tall vessel faucet on the counter or a wall-mounted spout. Choose the faucet before the counter is drilled. A professional installer is recommended.

Care
Carrara White is a calcite marble, so it is porous and acidic products can etch the polished basin. Sealing at installation helps keep moisture and stains out, and resealing is usually needed every one to two years depending on use.
