Crema Marfil, carved into a tapered cone
This vessel sink is carved by hand from a single block of Crema Marfil marble quarried in Turkey. Its profile is a V-shaped taper: wide at the rim and narrowing toward a small base, so the bowl seems to rise from the counter rather than sit on it. It measures 16 inches in diameter and 6 inches high. The stone has warm cream-to-beige tones with subtle golden and brown veining, and because every sink comes from its own block, no two are identical in colour or pattern.
Design
A high-gloss V-shaped taper
The finish is a high-gloss polish. It brings out the depth of the cream marble and the fine lines of its veining, and the reflective surface catches light from a window or a vanity lamp, which makes the bowl look larger on the counter. The tapered, conical shape gives the basin real depth for its 6 inch height while keeping the outline slim. The walls are carved 2 to 3 cm thick. Inside, the curves are smooth and continuous down to the drain, with no sharp corners or complex geometry where dirt can collect. Moderate color variation is normal for this stone: one sink may lean toward pale cream, another toward a warmer beige with more visible veining.

Where to use it
A neutral bowl for the vanity
The warm cream palette works in modern, contemporary, traditional and transitional bathrooms. It pairs with chrome as easily as with vintage brass, and it sits as comfortably on a dark, sleek vanity as on a rustic wood base. Because the tone is neutral, the sink anchors the rest of the room without competing with tile, wallpaper or fittings. At 16 inches across, it suits a single vanity or a pair of bowls on a double counter. The 4 cm drain hole accepts typical bathroom drain fittings.

Installation
Set it on a flat counter
This sink installs above the countertop, so the counter must be flat, level and strong enough to carry solid marble. Because the tapered base is narrower than the rim, its contact with the counter is small, which makes a flat surface and a good bed of silicone all the more important. A drain hole is cut in the counter to line up with the 4 cm drain. With the rim 6 inches above the counter, the faucet must reach over it: a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout. Choose the faucet before the counter is cut.

Care
Crema Marfil is a porous calcite marble, so acidic cleaners and liquids can etch the high-gloss surface, and hard water can leave spots and mineral buildup on it. Sealing helps against stains, and how often it is resealed depends on use.
