Emperador Brown, a polished round bowl
This round sink is carved individually from Emperador Brown marble quarried in Turkey. It measures 16 inches in diameter and 6 inches high, and it is polished inside and out. The stone is a warm, earthy brown with cream veining, a darker and moodier marble that sits well in modern and traditional rooms alike. The bowl can sit above the counter as a vessel sink or drop into a counter opening, and it suits a bathroom vanity as well as a small kitchen or bar sink. Each piece comes from a different part of the block, so the veining and color of every sink are its own.

Design
Warm brown with cream veins
Emperador Brown is known for its depth of color: shades of chocolate and caramel run through the stone, crossed by fine cream veins that branch in every direction. The polished finish brings that depth forward, giving the bowl a glossy surface that reflects light and shows the pattern clearly from across the room. The interior and exterior share the same finish, so the sink reads as one carved object from every side. The rim and walls are curved, with no corners where dirt can collect, which keeps the bowl easy to rinse. Mineral inclusions, shifts in tone and the path of each vein are the natural character of the stone, not defects, and they are never repeated from one sink to the next. Moderate color variation between pieces is normal for this marble.

Where to use it
Bathroom vanity or bar sink
In a bathroom, the brown bowl gives a light counter a strong center and sits naturally on wood, dark stone or painted vanities, with brass, bronze or black faucets. In a modern room, the round form keeps the look simple; in a traditional one, the warm marble suits classic cabinetry and tile. At 16 inches across, it fits a powder room vanity and still has a usable bowl for a primary bath. The sink is also listed for kitchen use, where it works as a bar or prep sink in natural stone. The 4 cm drain opening takes standard drain fittings, so the plumbing is the same as for any vessel sink.

Installation
Above the counter or dropped in
The sink installs either above the counter or dropped into it. Set above the counter, it needs a flat, level top strong enough to carry the stone, a drain hole cut to line up with the 4 cm drain, and a bead of silicone beneath the bowl. Because the bowl then stands 6 inches high, the faucet must reach over the rim: a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout. Dropped in, the counter is cut to an opening sized to the bowl, so part of the sink sits below the counter and the faucet can be lower. Either way, solid marble is heavy and needs solid structural support. Choose the faucet and decide the mounting before the counter is cut, and use a skilled installer.

Care
Emperador Brown is a porous calcite marble with a polished surface. Acidic products and liquids can etch the polish, and sealing keeps water and stains out of the stone. How often it is resealed depends on how much the sink is used, and with care the marble develops a soft patina over the years.
