Light beige travertine, a polished round bowl
This round vessel sink is carved from a single block of light beige travertine quarried in Turkey. It measures 16 inches in diameter and 6 inches high, a size that suits a powder room vanity and still feels generous in a primary bath. The stone has warm, creamy tones with natural veining and a subtle texture, and the colour depth shifts from one piece to the next. Because every sink is carved individually, no two bowls carry the same pattern. The surface is polished inside and out, so the travertine reads smooth and bright on the counter.
Design
Creamy stone with a glossy face
Polishing brings the travertine to a smooth surface that catches light while keeping its warm beige colour. The finish runs over the inside of the basin and the outside wall alike, so the bowl looks the same from every side of the room. The walls are carved 2 to 3 cm thick, which gives the rim a solid, substantial edge. The bowl is a simple round form with smooth curves and rounded edges, and that shape leaves few places for debris to collect, which makes it easier to keep clean day to day. Moderate color variation is normal for this stone: some bowls show more veining, others a calmer cream field, and the texture of the travertine is part of its character.

Where to use it
A bowl that saves counter space
Because the sink sits on top of the counter rather than inside it, the cabinet below keeps more room for storage, which helps in a small bathroom or powder room. At 16 inches across, the bowl makes a clear focal point without taking over the counter. The 6 inch height brings the rim up to a comfortable working level: hands meet the water with the elbow naturally bent. The light beige works in modern, transitional and traditional bathrooms, against wood, painted cabinetry or a stone top. The 4 cm drain hole is a standard size for easy plumbing.

Installation
Set it on a flat counter
An above-counter sink is simple to fit: the bowl is placed on top of the counter and fixed in place along with the drain assembly, with no need to work from the underside of the vanity. The counter must still be flat, level and strong, because solid stone is heavy and may need extra support on a light cabinet. A hole is cut in the counter to match the 4 cm drain, and the bowl is set in silicone. With the rim 6 inches above the counter, the faucet must reach over it: a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout. The above-counter design also allows the bowl to be replaced later without modifying the countertop.

Care
Travertine is a softer, porous calcite stone, so acids such as vinegar or lemon juice can etch the polished surface, and unsealed stone can stain from cosmetics and toothpaste. Sealing helps repel water and oil-based stains, and how often it is resealed depends on use.
