A round travertine vessel, honed and filled
This round vessel sink is handmade from beige travertine quarried in Turkey, stone chosen for its warmth and natural character. At 16 inches in diameter and 6 inches high, the bowl sits on top of the counter rather than disappearing into it, which makes the sink a quiet focal point in a primary bath, a guest bath or a powder room. Each sink shows its own natural veining and light beige tones, so no two pieces are identical.
Design
Soft curves in light beige
Round vessels are popular for a reason: the soft edge and circular outline ease the hard lines of a vanity, a mirror and tile, and give the room a calmer feel. The finish here is honed and filled. Raw travertine is naturally pitted; filling closes those pits, and honing then smooths the surface to a satin feel with a low, matte sheen. The result is smooth under the hand without a high gloss, and it hides water spots well. The walls are 2 to 3 cm thick. The curved basin has no corners, so soap and water rinse freely without catching in edges. Light beige tones with soft veining run through the stone, and moderate colour variation from piece to piece is normal for travertine.

Where to use it
Right-sized for real bathrooms
At 16 inches across, the bowl has real presence on the counter without overwhelming a modest vanity, and it still looks in proportion on a generous one. The 6 inch depth is enough for comfortable hand washing and daily use. In a guest bath or powder room, where visual impact is part of the goal, a raised stone bowl does a lot of the design work on its own. Because the sink sits above the counter, the space inside the vanity stays free for storage, which helps in smaller bathrooms. It also works with many existing vanities, without the plumbing complications of an undermount installation. The standard 4 cm drain hole connects to standard drain fittings, and the warm beige pairs well with wood, plaster and brass in a spa-like master bath.

Installation
Set it on a flat counter
Solid stone is heavy, so the counter must be flat, level and strong enough to carry the bowl. A drain hole is cut in the counter to line up with the 4 cm drain, and the sink is set in silicone. The bowl stands 6 inches above the counter, so the faucet must reach over the rim: a tall deck-mounted vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout. Choose the faucet before the counter is cut so the holes are placed together.

This sink is made to order on two production schedules, both in the 16 inch size with the honed and filled finish. The 3 to 4 week option ships sooner, while the 8 to 14 week option is the lower-priced choice. If 16 inches does not match the design plan or the plumbing, the bowl can also be made in custom dimensions, shapes and finishes. Care
Travertine is a porous calcite stone, so acids such as vinegar or lemon juice can etch or discolour the honed surface, and sealing helps keep water and stains out. How often it is resealed depends on use, typically once or twice a year.
