A round bowl of light beige travertine
This vessel sink is carved by hand from a single solid block of beige travertine quarried in Turkey. The stone has a warm honey and tan color with subtle veining and fine natural texture, the Mediterranean look travertine has carried for centuries. At 16 inches in diameter and 6 inches high, the bowl makes a clear statement on a standard vanity while keeping practical proportions for everyday use. Because each sink is carved individually, no two pieces are identical: the veining and the small variations in texture are different on every bowl.
Design
Honed, filled and carved by hand
The surface is honed and filled. Honing gives the stone a smooth matte face rather than a gloss, and filling closes the natural pits of the travertine, which reduces visible imperfections and leaves a soft, even texture under the hand. The matte finish is a practical choice as well as a visual one: It hides the water spots and light mineral marks that show quickly on a glossy surface, so the bowl looks clean for longer between cleanings. The basin edges are smooth and curved, with no sharp seams where buildup can gather. Travertine has no surface coating to wear through, so the color and texture seen on the day of installation are essentially what remain a decade later, with a gentle patina that deepens the character of the stone. Moderate color variation between bowls is normal.

Where to use it
Room on a compact vanity
The 16 inch round profile leaves breathing room on a compact vanity, which matters in a half bath or powder room, where a drop-in sink would take up more of the counter. It suits a primary bath as well, as one bowl or a pair. The warm beige works with wood, painted cabinetry and stone counters. Because the bowl sits on top of the counter, there is no large cutout to make, which is useful when renovating an older bathroom with a solid counter that stays in place. The 4 cm drain hole takes a standard drain assembly, and vessel sinks pair naturally with a single-hole deck-mount faucet, which keeps the plumbing simpler than a three-hole setup.

Installation
Set it on a level counter
Solid stone is heavy, so the counter must be flat, level and strong. One hole is drilled in the counter to line up with the 4 cm drain, and the bowl is set in silicone. Because the rim stands 6 inches above the counter, the faucet needs to reach over it: a tall single-hole vessel faucet on the deck, or a wall-mounted spout. Choose the faucet before the counter is drilled so the spout height and the supply lines match the bowl.

Care
Travertine is a porous calcite stone, and it needs sealing. Acids such as citrus and vinegar can etch the honed surface. How often it is resealed depends on use, typically every 6 months to a year.
