Round White Marble Vessel Bathroom Sink with Polished Surface 17 Inch

Marble · Above-Countertop sink
This round vessel sink is carved by hand from a single block of white marble quarried in Turkey. At 17 inches in diameter and 6 inches high, it is a generous bowl that holds its own on the counter without crowding a standard bathroom vanity. Because the basin is carved from one block, the natural veining runs continuously around the curve of the bowl, with its own rhythm and organic pattern, and the sink reads more like a carved object than a plumbing fitting. Each piece has its own color variations and markings, so no two sinks are the same. Vessel sinks sit on top of the counter, which generally makes them easier and quicker to install than a sink set into a cutout.

Design
The surface is polished. A polished finish reflects light across the curve of the bowl, so the white marble looks bright and the veining gains depth, and the glossy face is smooth to the touch. Polished marble also tends to shed everyday dirt readily, which keeps the bowl looking fresh between cleanings. The shape is a clean round bowl with a smooth rim and no overflow, which keeps the outline simple and current. White marble with soft veining and a fine, organic texture adds interest without overwhelming the room. Moderate color variation between pieces is normal for this stone, so the tone and pattern of each bowl will differ slightly from the next.

Where to use it
White marble works across a wide range of bathrooms: a minimal Japandi room, a Mediterranean bath with plaster and terracotta, or a bold contemporary space. Designers often make a marble bowl the focal point of the vanity and surround it with contrast, such as brass fittings, a warm wood vanity or matte black accents. The 17 inch diameter and 6 inch height give a roomy basin with space for hands and forearms, and the depth helps keep splashing down. The 4 cm drain hole accepts standard drain fittings, with no special adapters needed. A larger bowl like this suits a primary bath vanity or a generous powder room where the sink is meant to be noticed.

Installation
Solid marble is heavy, so the counter must be flat, level and strong. A drain hole is cut in the counter to line up with the 4 cm drain in the bowl, and the sink is set on silicone so it sits firmly. Because the bowl stands 6 inches above the counter, the faucet must reach over the rim: a tall deck-mounted vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout. Deciding on the faucet before the counter is drilled keeps the layout simple, and an installer used to natural stone will protect the polished surface during fitting.

Why we chose it

Made to order
This bowl is made to order, and it ships within 3 to 4 weeks. Marble has a long record as a durable material, and with care a marble sink serves a home for many years. If 17 inches does not suit the counter, the bowl can also be carved in a custom size or finish. To start a custom order, contact us with the measurements of the vanity.
White marble is a porous calcite stone, so acidic liquids can etch the polished surface and strong pigments can stain it if left to sit; a good sealer makes it far more resistant to toothpaste, soap and cosmetics. How often it is resealed depends on how much the sink is used.
