Noce Brown Hand Carved Travertine Vessel Sink 16 Inch Polished

Our team will review the details and get back to you within one business day.

Travertine · Above-Counter sink
This round vessel sink is carved by hand from Noce Brown travertine quarried in Turkey. Noce is the warm, earthy member of the travertine family, with tones that run from soft caramel to deeper bronze and natural veining that moves through the stone in bands. Each sink is cut from its own block and shaped individually, so the mineral pattern on one bowl never repeats on the next. The surface is polished inside and out, which brings the brown tones forward and gives the stone a smooth, glossy face. At 16 inches in diameter and 6 inches high, it sits on top of the counter as the main piece of the vanity.

Design
The polish runs over the interior and the exterior of the bowl. Water runs smoothly across the polished basin in daily use, and the glossy face shows the depth of the veining in a way a matte finish does not. The edges are gently curved and the transitions between rim, wall and basin are smooth, with no sharp corners or flat ledges. That is a practical detail as much as a visual one: there are no crevices where soap residue and hard water deposits can collect and become hard to reach. The brown tones sit comfortably in modern bathrooms, and they suit transitional and traditional rooms too. The bowl looks at home on a marble, granite or solid wood counter, and against painted or natural wood cabinetry. Moderate color variation between pieces is normal for this stone, so the balance of light and dark brown will differ from sink to sink.

Where to use it
The 16 inch diameter and 6 inch height strike a balance between presence and practicality. The bowl is large enough to anchor a vanity as its focal point, yet compact enough for a powder room or guest bath, and it works in a primary suite as well. Because a vessel sink sits on the counter, it raises the basin rim, which means less bending over the sink. The space under the counter stays free for drawers or shelves, and the bowl pairs with nearly any vanity style, from a floating cabinet to a traditional furniture-style piece. The 4 cm drain hole takes a standard vessel drain assembly without special plumbing changes.

Installation
A vessel sink avoids a full cutout in the counter. Only one hole is needed, sized to line up with the 4 cm drain. The counter must be flat, level and strong enough for solid stone, which is heavy. The bowl is set on the counter with a silicone seal, and a mounting ring can be used under the drain if the faucet and drain kit call for one. Because the rim sits 6 inches above the counter, the faucet must reach over it: a tall vessel faucet on the deck or a wall-mounted spout behind the bowl. Choosing the faucet before the counter is drilled keeps the spout height and the supply lines in step.
Why we chose it

Made to order
This sink is made to order on two schedules. The 3 to 4 week option ships sooner, while the 8 to 14 week option is the lower-priced choice for the same polished 16 by 6 inch bowl. The bowl can also be carved in a custom size or finish when the standard piece does not fit the vanity. To start a custom order, contact us with the measurements of the counter.
Travertine is a porous calcite stone. Acids such as vinegar and citrus, and household cleaners containing ammonia, can etch the polished surface and dull it. This sink arrives sealed, and how often it is resealed depends on use, every few months in a busy bathroom.
