Travertine · Above-Counter sink
A tapered bowl in Noce Brown travertine
This vessel sink is sculpted by hand from Noce Brown travertine quarried in Turkey. Its silhouette is a tapered cone, a V-shape that narrows from the rim to the base, and it is polished inside and out. The bowl measures 16 inches in diameter and 6 inches high, a size that fits standard countertops without crowding the vanity and works in a powder room as well as a primary bath. Each sink is sculpted individually, so its mineral variation and coloring are its own.
Design
A cone that leads to the drain
The tapered, conical shape does practical work. The sloping walls direct water and sediment toward the drain instead of leaving it in flat corners, and the curved edges avoid sharp angles at the base where water would otherwise pool. That geometry keeps daily cleaning simple. The polished finish on the interior and exterior brings warmth and depth to the brown stone, and the smooth surface gives dirt fewer places to settle. Its reflective face also bounces light around the room. The walls are 2 to 3 cm thick, and moderate color variation between sinks is normal for this travertine.

Where to use it
Sized for standard counters
At 16 inches across, the bowl fits standard countertop installations in both powder rooms and primary bathrooms. The warm brown pairs with natural wood, cream or white walls, and bronze or black fixtures. It has no overflow, which keeps the full basin usable. The 4 cm drain hole takes standard vessel drain fittings.
Size
16" diameter × 6" H, solid Noce Brown travertine.
Drain
4 cm drain hole, no overflow.
Installation
Set it on a level counter
The bowl sits on top of the counter, which must be flat, level and strong enough for solid stone. A drain hole is cut to line up with the 4 cm drain, and the bowl is set in silicone. Because the rim stands above the counter, the faucet must reach over it: a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout. Choose the faucet before cutting the counter.
Why we chose it
- Practical shapeThe cone directs water to the drain and leaves no flat corners.
- Sculpted by handEach bowl is carved individually from Turkish travertine.
- Made to orderEach sink is made to order, with custom sizes and finishes on request.
Made to order
Made to order
This sink is made to order on two schedules: the 3 to 4 week option ships sooner, while the 8 to 14 week option is the lower-priced choice. The bowl can also be made in a custom size or finish. To start a custom order, contact us with the measurements of the counter.
Care
Travertine is a porous calcite stone, the same family as marble, so acids such as vinegar or lemon can etch its polished surface. Periodic resealing preserves the finish, and how often it is needed depends on water hardness and use, typically once or twice a year.
