Seagrass fossil limestone, carved by hand
This vessel sink is carved by hand from seagrass fossil limestone quarried in Turkey. The gray stone carries fossil imprints left by ancient marine deposits, so the surface tells its own geological story. The basin is polished smooth on the inside, while the outside is hand split, leaving a rough, chiseled face. It measures 16 inches wide, 20 inches long and 5 inches high, a solid presence on a vanity without overwhelming it.

Design
Polished inside, split outside
The two finishes are the point of this sink. Inside, the polished basin is smooth and catches light. Outside, the hand split face is raw and uneven, with the texture of freshly broken stone. The outline is random rather than a strict geometric shape, following the hand carving, and the textured edges are softened so there are no sharp corners to catch dirt. Fossil patterns, gray tones and carving marks vary from piece to piece, with moderate color variation, so no two sinks are alike.
Polished interior
A smooth basin that contrasts with the rough exterior and shows the fossil detail.
Hand split exterior
A chiseled, natural stone face, carved by hand around the whole sink.
Where to use it
A rustic piece for the bath
The sink is made for a bathroom vanity. Set on a warm wood top, it gives an organic, rustic look; on a plain stone or painted top, the split face becomes the main texture in the room. Both the 16 by 20 inch footprint and 5 inch height leave room on most vanities for a faucet and a few essentials. A 4 cm drain hole takes standard vessel drain fittings.
Size
16" W × 20" L × 5" H, one piece of limestone.
Drain
4 cm drain hole for a standard vessel drain.
Installation
Setting it on the counter
This is an over-countertop sink. The counter needs to be flat, level and strong enough for solid stone, and a drain hole is cut through it to match the sink. The sink is set in silicone. With a 5 inch rim, a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mounted faucet is the usual choice, and the faucet position is easiest to settle before the counter is drilled.

- Two finishesA polished basin and a hand split exterior, carved from one block.

Made to order
Other sizes
The standard 16 by 20 inch sink ships within 3 to 5 business days. It can also be made to order in a custom size or finish when the vanity calls for different proportions. To ask about a custom piece, contact us with the measurements of the counter.
Care
Limestone is a porous calcite stone. Acidic liquids such as vinegar or lemon juice can etch and cloud the polished interior, and liquids left to sit can be absorbed. The sink is protected with a stone sealer, and how often it is resealed depends on how much it is used.
