This farmhouse apron sink is carved from a single block of light travertine quarried in Turkey, made for the kitchen. Because it comes from one piece of stone, its color, veining and texture are set by that block, and no two sinks are the same. The light, warm beige sits comfortably in modern, contemporary, traditional and transitional kitchens, and it brings the look of handwork into a room that is used every day. It measures 27.5 inches long, 18 inches wide and 7 inches high, a compact farmhouse size that still takes large cookware without overwhelming the counter.
Design
An exposed stone apron
The defining feature is the apron: the front edge of the sink extends down to form an exposed stone face. It lets the person at the sink stand closer while washing food or dishes, and it keeps splashes off the floor and the cabinet doors. It is also the part of the sink everyone sees, so it becomes a focal point that makes the kitchen feel lived in and welcoming. The surface is honed and filled inside and out. Honing gives a smooth matte face with clean lines, and filling closes the natural pits of the travertine so the interior gives dirt fewer places to settle. The edges are curved, which keeps debris from collecting in corners. Moderate color variation is normal, and the natural movement in the stone adds depth that no painted or glazed surface can reproduce.

Built for real kitchen work
At 27.5 by 18 inches, with a basin 7 inches high, the sink has room for pots, pans and sheet trays while staying compact enough for a smaller kitchen or a prep area. Heat resistance is a real strength of natural stone: hot cookware straight from the stove and a run of cold water will not warp or discolor the surface, and the stone resists cracking and deformation through years of daily use. The walls are 2 to 3 cm thick, carved as one piece. The large 6.5 cm drain hole suits kitchen drain fittings, and the sink has no overflow. The neutral palette is warm enough for a rustic kitchen and quiet enough for a sleek contemporary one.

Installation
Size the cabinet to the sink
The sink installs above the counter, with the apron front left exposed, so it does not need the undermount fabrication that a recessed sink demands. The base cabinet and the counter opening should still be sized to the sink, with the cabinet front cut to let the apron show. Solid travertine is heavy, so the cabinet needs a strong, level frame to carry the stone and a full basin of water. The 6.5 cm drain sets the size of the drain fitting, and the faucet position is best decided before the counter is finished. A professional installer is recommended to set the stone level and line up the drain.

Care
Travertine is a porous calcite stone, so acidic foods and cleaners can etch the honed surface, and harsh chemicals can wear it. Sealing protects against staining, and how often the sink is resealed depends on how hard the kitchen works it, often about once a year.
