Product Description
Tuxedo Obsidian Black is a 12x12 matte porcelain tile defined by a solid black surface. The Obsidian Black color carries a consistent, graphic presence without stone veining or concrete mottling. Its restrained appearance makes the square geometry and deep color the principal visual elements of the Tuxedo collection.
The matte finish limits reflections, giving the black field a softer response to room lighting. Rectified edges create a crisp perimeter, and the 9 mm, or 3/8 inch, body maintains a substantial tile profile. V1 shade variation indicates an even color from piece to piece, so broad areas retain a controlled appearance. Ratings include residential and commercial interior floors and walls, shower walls, backsplashes, and light residential floors across bathrooms, kitchens, and living rooms.
Water absorption of 0.5% or less meets the ANSI A137.1 definition of impervious porcelain, meaning almost no water enters the tile body. Breaking strength is at least 325 pounds, above the 250-pound ANSI minimum for floor tile. Wet DCOF is at least 0.42, meeting the ANSI A326.3 threshold for level indoor floors that get wet. The porcelain is resistant to both frost and thermal shock.
This 12x12 tile is sold by the box, with the price presented per square foot. Ten pieces cover 9.68 square feet, and each box weighs 42 pounds. Other Obsidian Black formats include 12x24 tile, 24x24 tile, a 2x2 mosaic, and a 4x24 bullnose.
