Valencia Beige travertine, polished and filled
The Valencia Beige is a round sink carved from a single piece of travertine quarried in Turkey. Its beige and brown tones are warm and layered, and the subtle veining and character of each basin cannot be repeated, because every sink is carved individually from its own block. It measures 16 inches in diameter and 6 inches high, with a 4 cm drain hole. Set on top of the counter, it becomes the visual focal point of the vanity, and it can also be installed beneath the counter for a quieter look.

Design
Why the finish matters
Travertine is a porous stone, full of tiny holes and channels that can take in water and other liquids. The Valencia Beige is polished and filled to deal with that. Filling closes the natural pores of the stone, so dirt, dust and spills cannot settle deep into the surface, and the basin is easier to keep clean than unfilled travertine. Polishing then brings the face of the stone to a smooth, glossy finish that shows off the warm beige and brown tones. The edges are curved and the interior is smooth, with no sharp internal angles where residue can build up. Moderate color variation between sinks is normal for this stone, so each basin balances its beige and brown a little differently.

Bathroom or kitchen, above or below
The 16 inch diameter and 6 inch depth give a practical basin that fits real vanities while keeping the shape of a carved bowl. The sink suits both bathrooms and kitchens: a vanity in a powder room or primary bath, or a small prep or bar sink in a kitchen. As a vessel, it sits on the counter with the whole bowl on view. As an undermount, it is set below the counter so the stone top runs up to the edge of the basin. The 4 cm drain opening takes standard drain connections and lets water drain away steadily. Warm beige and brown pair well with wood, cream stone and bronze or brass fittings.

Installation
Vessel or undermount
Solid travertine is heavy, so any counter that carries it must be flat, level and strong. As a vessel, a drain hole is cut in the counter to line up with the 4 cm drain, the bowl is set in silicone, and the faucet must reach over the 6 inch rim: a tall deck-mounted vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout. As an undermount, the counter is cut to the size of the bowl and the sink is supported from below, so the cutout should be made with the sink on site. Either way, choose the faucet before the counter is cut, and use an installer familiar with natural stone.

Standard sizing does not suit every vanity, so the sink can also be made in a custom size, shape or finish rather than the vanity being redesigned around it. Care
Travertine is a porous calcite stone, so acids such as vinegar or lemon-based cleaners can etch its polished face, which matters most in bathrooms and kitchens where water and humidity are constant. Filling reduces the concerns of open stone, and how often the sink is resealed depends on use.
