Valencia Beige travertine, a polished round bowl
This round sink is carved by hand from Valencia Beige travertine quarried in Turkey. It measures 16 inches in diameter and 6 inches high, proportions chosen to sit on a standard bathroom vanity without crowding it. The stone runs from soft beige to warm brown, with natural veining that changes from one block to the next, so no two Valencia sinks are the same. The surface is polished and filled, which brings out the color of the travertine and closes its natural pits. The bowl can sit above the counter as a vessel sink or be set below it as an undermount, and it suits a bathroom or a small kitchen sink area.
Design
Filled, polished and curved
Travertine forms with small natural holes and voids, and on this sink they are filled at the surface before the stone is polished. Filling closes those pores, leaving fewer places for water and grime to settle, and makes the bowl easier to keep clean than an unfilled travertine. The polish then gives the interior and exterior a smooth, glossy face that deepens the beige and brown tones and shows the line of the veining. The rim and walls are curved, with no sharp angles where water and dirt could collect. The bowl has no overflow hole, so the inside is one clean curve of stone down to the drain. Travertine's warm, earthy color sits easily next to wood, plaster, painted cabinetry and darker stone. Because it is a natural stone, tone and veining vary between sinks, and moderate color variation between pieces is normal.
Polished and filled
Natural pores closed at the surface, then polished to a smooth, glossy finish inside and out.
Curved rim
Rounded edges and walls with no sharp corners to trap water or grime.
Where to use it
Above the counter or below it
As a vessel sink, the bowl sits on top of the vanity and becomes its focal point, which works well in a powder room or a primary bath. As an undermount, it is set below a counter opening so the top stays flat and the stone bowl shows from above. The round shape fits minimalist, contemporary, transitional and traditional bathrooms, and the warm beige is easy to pair with brass, bronze or black fixtures. At 16 inches across, it fits a narrow vanity and still leaves space for soap and a towel. The 4 cm drain hole takes standard drain connections. The sink is also listed for kitchen use, where it makes a small prep or bar sink in natural stone.

Installation
Two ways to set it
For an above-counter installation, the counter must be flat, level and strong, since solid stone is heavy. A drain hole is cut in the counter to line up with the 4 cm drain, and the bowl is set in silicone. Because the bowl stands 6 inches above the counter, the faucet has to reach over the rim: a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout. For an undermount installation, the counter is cut to an opening sized to the bowl, and the sink is fixed and sealed to the underside of the counter, with a standard deck faucet behind it. Either way, choose the faucet and drain before the counter is cut, and a professional installer is recommended.

Care
Travertine is a porous calcite stone. The filled, polished surface reduces how much moisture it takes in, but acids such as citrus or vinegar can still etch the polish. Periodic sealing keeps stains out, and how often depends on use, typically once or twice a year.
