A Calacatta Viola rectangle
This rectangular sink is carved from a single block of Calacatta Viola marble quarried in Turkey. The stone has a creamy white base crossed by bold violet and deep charcoal streaks that run across the surface like brushwork, and no two blocks carry the same pattern. It measures 12 inches wide, 18 inches long and 6 inches high, a compact size that fits a small vanity without crowding it. The finish is honed inside and out. It is solid natural marble throughout, not engineered stone, and it is made to be used every day for many years.

Design
Violet veins, honed and matte
Every stone sink starts as a block with its own traits: colour variation, veining, small natural pits and flecks of mineral. Calacatta Viola shows these clearly. Some sinks carry wide violet bands, others finer gray and charcoal lines with more white between them, and the variation from piece to piece is moderate. The pattern on a delivered sink will differ from the product images, and that difference is part of what makes it a carved piece rather than a manufactured one. The honed finish leaves the marble matte and soft to the touch. It shows fewer fingerprints and water marks than a glossy surface, and it keeps the strong veining looking calm. The rectangle has curved edges and a smooth interior, with no tight corners for soap residue or limescale to settle into, which keeps cleaning quick. Over the years the stone develops a natural patina that adds character.

Small footprint, bathroom or kitchen
At 12 by 18 inches, the sink suits a powder room, a guest bath or a narrow vanity where a larger basin would overwhelm the counter. It is listed for both bathroom and kitchen use, so it also works as a bar or prep sink in a kitchen or butler's pantry. Marble handles hot water well and does not warp with heat, which matters at a sink where hot water runs every day. The white and violet stone works with brass, nickel or black fittings and with wood or painted cabinetry.

The sink is listed for countertop and farmhouse-style installation. Set on top of the counter as a vessel, it needs a flat, level surface strong enough for solid stone, a drain hole cut to line up with the sink's drain, and a bead of silicone underneath. The rim then stands 6 inches above the counter, so the faucet must be tall enough to reach over it, or mounted on the wall. Set into a counter or cabinet instead, the opening is cut to the exact size of the sink, and the cabinet must be built to carry the stone. In both cases measure the vanity before ordering and choose the faucet before the counter is cut.

Care
Calacatta Viola is a porous calcite marble with a honed surface. Acids such as vinegar or citrus can etch and dull it, so the sink is sealed at installation, and sealing slows the absorption of water and stains. How often it is resealed afterwards depends on use.
