How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Antique Green soapstone, honed, 1 1/4 in thick

Antique Green is a soapstone with a gray green body and a dense web of pale green veins. This slab is honed and 1 1/4 inch thick. The block photo below shows a full slab at 77x132 in, standing in the supplier's yard. Stock is on request, so availability is confirmed with your quote.

Design

Gray green ground, white green veins

Up close the face is mottled. Darker patches of slate green sit under a crackle of thin light lines, and a few heavier veins run corner to corner across the slab. Honing keeps it matte. There is no shine to bounce back light, so the green stays muted and slightly smoky, the way soapstone usually reads in a kitchen. Expect the next slab off the block to carry the same veining direction with different detail.

Matte honed face

Ground smooth without polish, so the stone looks soft under pendant lights.

Diagonal movement

The main veins cross the slab on a long diagonal, which suits a wide island.

Honed Antique Green at 77x132 in

It is rated for residential countertops and for interior walls in homes and commercial spaces, in a kitchen or a bathroom. At 77x132 in, one slab covers a long run with fewer seams. A licensed fabricator templates, cuts and installs it. We deliver to that shop by A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse, and by crated LTL freight farther out.

Thick edge

At 1 1/4 inch the slab carries a plain eased edge without a built up laminate.
